Suggested Options on Explore Data

To reduce the time it takes to build visualizations, Uncountable now provides a curated list of Suggested Options on the Explore Data page. These options are automatically generated based on the context of your current project or material family and appear by default in the side panel.

Note that this feature is only available in the new Explore Data UI and can only be enabled by admin users.

What’s new

With this update, when you click Build Graph on the Explore Data page, a list of relevant fields is automatically preloaded in the Options side panel. You can quickly drag and drop them to the X or Y axes, or use them to plot Color or Size.

Previously, adding options required clicking + New and selecting fields one at a time.

How it works

When generating Suggested Options, Uncountable samples 20 experiments to identify the most relevant fields for visualization. If a project is selected, the sample is drawn from that project. If in All Projects, the platform draws from the current material family.

From this sample, the most commonly used fields (up to 8 inputs, 8 outputs, 4 condition parameters, and 4 output conditions) are displayed in the side panel automatically.

How to enable

Admin users can enable Suggested Options on the new Explore Data UI by taking the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Company-Wide Settings page.
  2. Access the Platform Config tab.
  3. Enable the new visualizations UI by unchecking New Explore Viz UI Opt Out.
  4. Enable Suggested Options by checking Suggest Viz Options.

Non-admin users should contact their Uncountable representative in order to opt-in.
