An upcoming update to the Enter Measurements page will add support for table-specific condition parameter columns.
What is changing
When adding a condition parameter column in the Sort and Organize modal, click the filter icon to access Column Conditions. In this new modal, add conditions to control whether a condition parameter appears as a column or as a standard suffix.
Supported condition types:
- Condition Parameter Value Match — Show the CP as a column when the output has another condition parameter that matches a defined value.
- Category Match — Show the CP as a column when the output belongs to a defined category.
The CP will appear as a column only if all conditions are met in that table’s parameters. If the CP exists but the conditions are not met, it will display as a suffix.
Note: Multiple conditions are combined using AND logic. Future updates will include additional support for OR logic.
Benefits of this update
Previously, adding a condition parameter as a column applied the change to all measurement tables in the view. With this change, it will be easier to create focused, relevant table views.
Conditional column parameters will also be useful in cases where the same measurement is used across multiple testing contexts. For example, you might want to display a Film Build Thickness CP as a column but only in cases where the output has a specific test context (e.g. Chemical Resistance Testing).
How to add column conditions
To add table-specific condition parameter columns to your measurement table:
- On the Enter Measurements page of an experiment, open the Sort and Organize modal.
- Go to the Organize tab.
- Under the Sort by Column section, click + Add Condition Parameter.
- Select the condition parameter to configure.
- Click the filter icon next to the parameter.
- In the Column Conditions modal, select a condition type (Condition Parameter Value Match or Category Match).
- Based on the condition type, define either a condition parameter value or an output category to match.
- Add additional conditions, if desired.
- Save and confirm changes.
